Railway sleepers, telephone and utility poles and pieces of them are impregnated with creosote, making them hazardous waste. Small batches and pieces are accepted at Sortti Stations (subject to a charge).

Entire poles and large batches must be delivered directly to Kestopuu's recycling terminal in Tuulos, see www.kestopuu.fi.
